Q&A: Does immunity acquired by having a vaccine only last TEMPORARILY?
Question by Yak: Does immunity bought by having a vaccine only last TEMPORARILY?
As I heard somewhere that immunity you get by having a vaccine only lasts temporarily, rather than having the virus and getting natural immunity to it.
Also if it is temporarily, how long does it last for? And what’s the point of a vaccine then!

Well the vaccine is pretty much the virus in a small dose, such a small dose that your body should be able to naturally fight it off and build an immunity to it. When your body does this its kind of temporarily I suppose because the viruses out there are constantly evolving and growing strong against our vaccines/antibiotics, all that stuff. It also is temporarily because after time your body pretty much forgets about that virus, it built up an immunity for it to be fought off, but after no longer needing to fight the virus it slowly pretty much forgets about it. This is why some shots for vaccines you have to take every couple of years.
