AN IRISH COMPANY that provides in-flight entertainment for aircraft has secured a multi-million euro deal to equip an Omni Air International fleet.
Airvod Entertainment will equip a fleet of Omni Air’s 777-200 aircraft with Seatcentric in-flight entertainment.
Terry Bonar, CEO of Airvod Entertainment, said: “We are a young and innovative company with an established reputation as a global developer and supplier of In-FlightEntertainment (IFE) solutions, and our commitment to continuous investment in research and development is really beginning to pay dividend”.
The company says it is the first in the world to use the 5.8 GHz frequency for its wireless networks – in replacement of the industry standard 2.4 GHz – meaning its devices and services can operate without interference from personal electronic devices on board.
Airvod Entertainment has been in operation for four years, employs more than 40 employees in Ireland, India, and Thailand, and has ground operations in Australia, Montreal and throughout Europe.
