H1N1 Vaccine
Question by realityshowjunkie: Is anyone TTC or pregnant going to get the H1N1 vaccination?
I am just curious how OB/GYN’s or RE’s feel about getting the vaccination. I have never had a flu vaccination. I am a preschool teacher so my risks may be higher for getting the flu. It’s just that this vaccination scares the he** out of me as it is new. It makes me nearly want to wait to TTC but (for many reasons) I can’t place it off much longer.

Question by MiSSLiNDABABiE: Who is plotting to get the h1n1 vaccine for themselves & their child?
I am worried of catching the swine flu but, also worried to get the new h1n1 vaccine. After watching Desiree Jennings tale online and reading/watching the news about horrible things going incorrect after people have gotten the vaccine…I am certainly paranoid. I have a 8 month ancient small girl and would want to protect her in every way possible but, I don’t want her/me or my husband to get the vaccine until I know it is 100% safe. Absolutely 100% safe. Does anyone else feel the same way I do?

Prevention of H1N1: A Remix of Remedies
Yet another death reported today due to H1N1 virus! Every day the toll is rising. What is causing public anxiety is that the victim certainly had not been out of the country in recent months and had not come in contact with any apparently known case of H1N1 in the neighborhood. In other words, the virus is already present in the community and choosing silently its preys.. By the time the diagnosis is established by the present tools available with us, the first 48 hours are over in many cases making the drug(Oseltamivir or` Tami flu`) less effective against a severe infection. Case detection and treatment of every case may not be possible in our country. It is certainly not cost effective to use the drug on every `cough cold and fever.` As it is we have other viral infections ( Dengue, Chickengunia, influenzas) looking for their shares of victims and do not forget age our ancient friends tuberculosis and malaria in India.
