Question by Ringabell <3: How long until my H1N1 flu vaccination really prevents H1N1?
I got my vaccination for H1N1 a few hours ago as well as my seasonal flu vaccine . Is there still a time period where I can get H1N1 or the regular flu ? Am I protected from H1N1 right now ? Also , if I caught swine flu today before my vaccine (if my luck was that terrible) would I still get it? Please help! Thanks :]

I have heard reports that it takes from 2 to 4 weeks for the vaccine to develop your immunity to the flu. Stay at home as much as you can and wash up excellent after going out into the community.

You should have 93% immunity by day 21 after your vaccination. No, you are not very well protected right now but your antibodies and immunity will gradually increase and improve each day. And yes, if you caught H1N1 flu today, it would be like not being vaccinated… at least for a few days.
